Taylor Swift's ex 'told to focus on school'

Taylor Swift's romance reportedly failed as her boyfriend's family were concerned about his school work.
The American singer had been dating Conor Kennedy for around four months before their break-up earlier this month. His father is Robert F. Kennedy Jr., part of the iconic political family. It's been claimed Conor's loved ones were concerned the 18-year-old might struggle with school while dating Taylor.
'They were worried about it affecting Conor's studies. They want him to have a successful and fulfilling life, not be known as a pop star's arm candy,' an insider told British newspaper The Sun.
Conor's family are also said to have been concerned about the age gap between him and 22-year-old Taylor.
The singer is famed for writing songs about her ex-partners, with her track Dear John said to be about her tumultuous romance with John Mayer. Conor's family reportedly want him to stay out of the limelight as much as possible, which they knew would be hard if he was with Taylor.
The star appears to be moving on with her life, as it has been announced she will co-host the Grammy nominations live from Nashville on December 5.
She is also said to be getting increasingly close to British singer Ed Sheeran, who she has worked with. He is a big fan of hers and got the name of her new album, Red, tattooed on his arm over the weekend.
