Rodrigo y Gabriela to get Roxy at Night Of The Day Of The Dead Festival

From the October 31st to November 3rd, Rodrigo y Gabriela will perform at London's Old Vic Tunnels for Mexico's vibrant Day of the Dead celebrations.

Over four very special nights Rodrigo y Gabriela will headline a festival of music, food, art and film in the unique and special surroundings of The Old Vic Tunnels beneath Waterloo train station in London. An exciting addition has been made to the line up and on Thursday 1 November during the Day of the Dead Festival, Rodrigo y Gabriela will be joined on stage by Roxy Music's Phil Manzanera in a one-off sensational collaboration.

During the day the tunnels will be transformed, with an exhibition of photography by highly acclaimed Mexican artist Graciela Iturbide, newly commissioned installations of visual arts by the Le Gun collective and British artists Hew Locke and Nancy Fouts, along with a temporary street kitchen, tequila and Mezcalaria bar.

Evening tickets are available at £31 from www.rodgab.com. Ticket includes access to Rodrigo y Gabriela's headline performance, the visual arts show and late night revelry with Communion DJs.

In Mexico, Day of the Dead is a time where families gather to remember the lives of their ancestors as it is believed that the souls of the dead come back to visit their loved ones on these days. It is a colourful celebration of life; festive, rather than sombre as death isn't seen as the end of one's life, but as a natural part of the life cycle
