ROB ZOMBIE DRAWS MONSTER CROWDS TO ‘GREAT AMERICAN NIGHTMARE,’ ROCKS ‘JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE’

You can chalk up the inaugural run of Rob Zombie‘s ‘Great American Nightmare’ as a huge success. Zombie’s horror-themed attraction pulled in monster crowds at the Pomona FEARPlex in Pomona, Calif., with over 8,500 people turning up on the Zombie-headlined final night (Nov. 2) .
“After 32 years in the haunted house business, the final weekend of Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare had the largest crowds I have ever witnessed,” said haunted house producer Steve Kopelman. “We ran more than 8,500 people through the attractions on the final night. We are extremely proud of the event we built and the partnership with Rob Zombie, and look forward to 2014.”
In addition to the nightly music performances, the attraction featured three fully immersive haunted house experiences all based on Zombie’s own films — ‘The Lords of Salem in Total Black Out,’ ‘The Haunted World of El Superbeasto 3D’ and the ‘Haunt of 1,000 Corpses.’ The Great American Nightmare was staged every Thursday through Sunday from Oct. 10 through Nov. 2, with Zombie booking a variety of musical guests to perform each evening.
In other Rob Zombie news, the singer and his band recently performed on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live.’ You can see the performances of ‘We’re an American Band’ above and ‘Dead City Radio and the New Gods of Supertown’ below. NEWSTED, ‘KING OF THE UNDERDOGS’ – EXCLUSIVE VIDEO PREMIERE

It’s fitting that on Halloween we get one of the more sinister videos of the year! That platitude falls toNewsted, who are exclusively premiering their new video for ‘King of the Underdogs’ here at Loudwire.
While frontman Jason Newsted is quite a nice guy in real life, you might think he was a little possessed in the clip for ‘King of the Underdogs.’ That’s because the combination of red spotlights, interesting double image shots, Newsted facial expressions and body movements and some killer guitar that sets the musical tone would give you that impression. And Newsted himself does nothing to dissuade you from this notion, even using his fingers to mimic devil horns toward the end of the clip.
In addition to scaring the bejeezus out of you with certain shots, the ‘King of the Underdogs’ video is also a solid performance showcase for the band. There’s killer licks, chugging riffs and an overall heaviness that makes ‘King of the Underdogs’ one of the ‘Heavy Metal Music’ album’s true standout tracks.
Newsted says of the self-proclaimed “metal as f—” video: “Awesome vibes captured in Oakland, Calif. in September 2013 by director Leon Melas, of ‘Soldierhead’ fame, who has outdone himself again through this electrifying performance by ‘Heavy Metal Music’ makers Newsted, Mushok, Mendez & Farnsworth. Check it out my friends!! Listen to metal!”
‘King of the Underdogs’ appears on the ‘Heavy Metal Music’ album (available at iTunes). Look for Newsted playing the Soundwave Festival in Australia early next year. Dates can be found here.
