Swift, Bieber, One Direction on top at EMAs


Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber led the pack at the MTV European Music Awards on Sunday.
The pair scored three awards each at the ceremony in Frankfurt, Germany.
Country music darling Taylor won Best Female Act, Best Live Act and new category Best Look.
Justin took home Best Male Act, Best Pop Act and Best World Stage performer.
One Direction won for Best New Act and Biggest Fan Following.
Carly Rae Jepsen was also a big winner, taking home the Best Push award and Best Song for her hit single Call Me Maybe.
Other awards went to Nicki Minaj (Best Hip-Hop Act); Linkin Park (Best Rock Act); David Guetta (Best Electronic Act); Lana Del Rey (Best Alternative Act); Psy (Best Video, Gangnam Style); and Han Geng (Best Worldwide Act).
Whitney Houston was honoured with the Global Icon award posthumously.
Performers of the night included Rita Ora, who took the stage with R.I.O.; fun. with We Are Young; Alicia Keys with Girl on Fire; Pitbull with Don't Stop the Party; The Killers with Runaways; Muse with Madness; and No Doubt with Looking Hot.
Taylor closed the show with a rendition of her hit single We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.
