Macy Gray, Stooshe and Joe McElderry perform Thriller Live for BBC Children in Need


Soul Sensation Macy Gray, girl group of the moment Stooshe and X Factor winner Joe McElderry make a star-studded line-up wowing the audience of Thriller Live for BBC Children in Need POP Goes the Musical

Last night, Macy Gray, Stooshe and Joe McElderry took to the stage to perform three unique collaborations with cast members from the West End show Thriller Live for BBC Children in Need POP Goes the Musical with exclusive ticketing partner lastminute.com. 

Throughout the show, the stars 'popped up' thrilling the audience with their own renditions of Michael Jackson classics. Soul powerhouse Macy Gray lent her unique vocals to 'Rock With You', R&B girl group Stooshe put their own spin on 'The Way You Make Me Feel' and X Factor winner Joe McElderry performed a moving version of 'She's Out of My Life', giving lucky audience members a night to remember.

Macy said: 'It's great to be back in the UK supporting BBC Children in Need. The songs of Michael Jackson are so iconic, his music was and is such an important part of my life. It's amazing to be performing one of his songs, being on a West End stage makes it even more special.'

Stooshe said: 'Wow! Performing in the West End has been unreal! We love Michael Jackson and Thriller is such a great tribute to him. We're so proud to be helping BBC Children in Need it's a fantastic cause.'

Joe said: 'I'm a massive Michael Jackson fan so it was amazing perform in Thriller tonight. BBC Children in Need is a great cause, I'm always honoured to be asked to take part.'

These special performances in Thriller Live mark the end of a star studded theatre season. BBC Children in Need POP Goes the Musical 2012 has seen the best of West End Theatres in a unique charity project which delivered celebrities from the music sphere to top shows, performing hit song throughout September, October and November 2012, raising vital funds for disadvantaged children and young people here in the UK. 

In addition to last night's line up in Thriller, the show-stopping celebrities involved in these series of unique curtain calls were; X Factor Winner Alexandra Burke performing in Les Miserables, the handsome Blue boys performing in JERSEY BOYS, the spicy Geri Halliwell performed in 'Singin' in the Rain' and pop princess Amelia Lily performing in Shrek The Musical.
