Coldplay joining Jay-Z for New Year's Eve concert

Coldplay will join Jay-Z for a New Year's Eve concert in New York City.
The band announced it would be collaborating again with the rapper to round off the year with a show at Brooklyn's Barclays Center on December 31.
It marks the second time in two years the band will celebrate a new year with the Brooklyn-born rapper.
'Good evening. We're pleased to announce that, on Monday, 31 December, Coldplay will round off a memorable year by performing a very special co-headline show with Jay-Z at Barclays Center, Brooklyn,' a statement on Coldplay's website read on Sunday.
Jay-Z and longtime pal, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, previously shared the stage at a 2010 Las Vegas concert.
They also performed together at the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
Jay-Z posted a flyer for the concert on his website, Life and Times at the weekend.
The concert will mark Coldplay's first in New York City since 2005.
Jay-Z meanwhile enjoyed a string of sold-out shows at the newly-erected arena after its September 28 opening.
The Barclays Center is home of the Brooklyn Nets, the US basketball team partly owned by the rapper.
Tickets for the New Year's Eve show will go on sale on November 17.
