Courtney Love chooses director for Cobain film
(Cover) - EN Movies - Courtney Love has lined up director-and-producer Brett Morgen to work on a movie about Kurt Cobain.
It was recently reported that the Hole rocker was teaming up with Britney Spears' former manager Sam Lutfi on a project about her marriage to the late Nirvana star.
Brett is behind the new Rolling Stones documentary Crossfire Hurricane and has confirmed he is involved in Courtney''s new film. While it was originally thought the release would centre on Courtney, Brett has seemingly revealed it will actually focus more on Kurt.
"Courtney is the one that brought me into this," he told New York Post. "We've been trying to find the right time to put this film together and the time is now... Kurt was not only an amazing songwriter and musician, he was an incredible artist and filmmaker. So we are going to do the movie sort of like a third-person autobiography - [as] if Kurt was around and making a film about his life."
The late singer''s life has been touched on before in Hollywood; with the 2005 film Last Days a fictionalised account about the run up to Kurt''s death.
The star battled drug addiction during his life and committed suicide in 1994 aged 27. He had previously attempted to take his own life several times and it has been claimed his relationship with Courtney was in turmoil when he died.
Sam confirmed he was collaborating with Courtney during a testimony in court, where he was suing Britney''s family. He later lost the case.
'[Courtney Love and I] are currently working on a possible motion picture or Broadway musical based on the Nirvana catalogue, based on her life and Kurt Cobain's,' he said.
