Asda goes X Factor with 'Chicken Jahmene'
IF YOU like a Chinese takeaway in front of The X Factor on a Saturday night, then look no further than the new 'Chicken Jahmene'.
To show its support for colleague and current star of The X Factor, Jahmene Douglas, Asda is launching a limited edition, Chicken Chow Mein - re-naming the popular Chinese dish after the singing sensation.
For one weekend only the Chosen by you Chicken Chow Mein will be known as 'Chicken Jahmene' and 23p from each pack sold will go towards national charity, Women's Aid, in a bid to raise money for the cause.
The charity, at which Jahmene's mum works and is close to his heart, supports a network of over 500 domestic and sexual violence services across the UK.
The supermarket urges its shoppers to show their support for the Swindonstore superstar by going Chicken Jahmene crazy this weekend.
Jackie Anderson, from Asda's ready meal team said: "We're so proud of Jahmene and all the incredible performances he does week in, week out on the X Factor so we really want to get behind him and offer our support. ChickenChow Mein is a weekend favourite and we hope that by re-naming it after him, we'll be able to raise lots of money for Women's Aid.'
The Chicken Jahmene will be available in Asda stores nationwide between Friday 16th and Sunday 18th November at a price of £2.25 ' a third of the price of a high-street takeaway.
