Paul Liddell

Paul Liddell

Paul Liddell & Delphians - live

Paul Liddell's new album 'Paul Liddell and Delphians- live' is an incredible concoction of folk, blues and rock.

Paul Liddell has put his all into music. He currently plays an average of 20 gigs a month and has performed at numerous shows including the main stage at Beverley Folk Festival. On top of that he has sold over 3000 albums and EP's from live performance's alone.

The most striking attribute of Liddell is his dynamic musical abilities. The whole album is a mixture of live sampling and guitar percussion, topped with his inspirational voice. If the instrumental sections are not enticing enough then the stories told through the in depth lyrics will grab you by the mind. Each song has a mysterious way of provoking reflection and they easily become addictive.

Goodbye Mr. Green is the best song on the album and is an amazing story to listen to. The lyrics are once again extremely clever and the instruments provide the perfect platform for the story to be delivered with. Guitar melodies layer up to introduce the song and then the percussion falls on top shortly followed by stretching chords. Once the instruments have invited you in the vocals start and the song unfolds into an amazing and emotive story.

The whole album was recorded in a tiny venue above a pub to a lucky audience of only 80. This live element to the album adds something purely unique that makes the album even better. There is a wide range of styles shown in songs such as 'the fool' and 'dialling tone' that provide something for everyone. Check this youtube video out and see for yourself.
