Matt Bellamy is Kylie fan

Matt Bellamy is Kylie fan

Matt Bellamy was a huge fan of Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan's TV "relationship thing" when he was growing up.
The Muse rocker was thrilled to be presented with the prize for Best Act in the World Today at the Q Awards this year, especially as Kylie handed it to the group.
It was the first time the British musician had met the Australian star, who found fame portraying Charlene Mitchell in soap opera Neighbours. Charlene was embroiled in a romance with Jason's character Scott Robinson and Matt has hinted he was one of the 20 million UK viewers who tuned in to watch their wedding.
"Meeting Kylie!" he told Q magazine, when asked what the best thing about winning the award was. "I've never met her before. She's such a lovely lady. I'm so glad that she presented us the award. I grew up watching Neighbours, I used to get home from school and watch it every day. I was a bit fan of her and Jason's relationship thing."
During his speech when picking up the trophy, Matt discussed how it felt to pen the official London 2012 Olympic Games anthem. He hinted he was amazed the group's track Survival was chosen and has now explained he isn't sure it had the most appropriate message.
"Now it's all over, we can say that the song was really written more about survivalists," he laughed. "There was this TV show called [Doomsday] Preppers, which was all about these crazy survivalists who think the world is gonna end. The song is basically about that. So I was just making a comment that I was as surprised as everybody else was, that the song got selected for the Olympics."
