The Beatles rare early demo for auction
A rare 1963 Beatles demo of 'What Goes On' is expected to fetch big money when it goes to auction this month.
The Beatles expert Steve Marinucci reports that the original 'What Goes On' was meant to be recorded in a marathon session on March 5, 1963 but The Beatles ran out of time. Instead they recorded 'One After 909' at the sessions but that recording was not released until 1996 on the Anthology series. . The version up for auction has never been bootlegged.
'What Goes On' was eventually re-recorded in 1965 with vocals by Ringo Starr for the 'Rubber Soul ' album.

On the March 6, 1963 sessions, The Beatles also recorded 'From Me To You' and an early version of 'Thank You Girl' titled 'Thank You Little Girl' at the session.
The 'What Goes On' version you know from 'Rubber Soul' was recorded on November 4, 1965 in one take.
The Entertainment Memorabilia auction will take place on December 12. Another demo titled 'Granny Smith' will also be auctioned. It was eventually released as 'Love You To' on 'Revolver'.
