Adele was 'laughing all night' at the Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The British singer won in the Best Song category for her and co-writer Paul Epworth's James Bond theme song Skyfall.

This is Adele's first public appearance since she and her partner Simon Konecki welcomed their son into the world in October last year.

The Grammy Award-winning crooner looked stunning in her gown and brought the audience to a chuckle when she accepted her Golden Globe trophy.

"Honestly, I''ve come out for a night out with my friend Ida; we''re new moms. We''ve literally come for a night out. I was not expecting this. Thank you so much!" Adele gushed onstage.

"It is very strange to be here. Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your world for a night. It''s amazing. We''ve been pissing ourselves laughing all night. I'd like to thank the Hollywood Foreign Press. I never thought I''d ever say that. Sony Pictures, MGM, [director] Sam Mendes, [the song''s producer] Paul Epworth who I did the song with, Daniel Craig for being such a wonderful Bond. And this is for my boyfriend Simon, who convinced me to do it, and my lovely son. Thank you so much."

Girls actress-and-writer Lena Dunham won big this evening, triumphing in the Best Actress in a TV Series, Comedy and Best TV Series, Comedy or Musical categories.

Les Misérables co-stars Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman have also been dubbed some of this year's top thespians.

Anne was victorious as the Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her portrayal of prostitute Fantine in the classic musical. Hugh proved to be Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical.

The 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday.
